Sephis organization

Sephis is an independent research programme under the aegis of an international Steering Committee consisting of researchers committed to South-South cooperation. The Steering Committee members are selected for a period of four years. The Steering Committee meets once a year to discuss the progress of the programme, new grant applications, proposals for workshops, lecture tours and faculty exchange, and the publications and translations.

The secretariat of Sephis is based at the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. A coordinator and an office manager are in charge of the daily management of the programme and work closely together with the Steering Committee and the local coordinators of the Sephis programme in the South.
